To the Faithful Servants,

I write simply to let all of you know what an honor it is to serve Jesus with each of you.

Your commitment to our Savior and dedication to His work are commendable. As Paul wrote to the Thessalonian church, "The good news of Jesus is ringing out all over the world because of you."

We had an emotionally full week, which included three memorial services. Your ministry to hundreds who attended was powerful.

A few highlights from the past week:

  • Three Jesus-honoring memorials for Pam, Debbie and Kay

  • The Michigan and Haiti teams left and now are busy ministering to those who need Jesus

  • Pastor Carrie's week of camp saw 22 decisions for Christ — four from Tomoka and 18 from other congregations

  • Our weekend attendance was 1,921

  • Our nursing home and jail ministry volunteers brought the love of Jesus to those who otherwise might not hear of it (volunteers needed in these two ministries — call the office for details)

  • 22 made decisions for Jesus here at TCC

  • Our church family welcomed Vivek Lall and provided $25,000 in assistance to his ministry in India

  • Tuesday Church experienced a record 110 in attendance.

Some of you are aware that a dear brother, John O’Neal, a partner here at TCC, recently received a kidney transplant. It was a successful procedure and John is doing well. But he needs help. He will need expensive medicines for the rest of his life that his insurance only partially covers. If you’d like to make a tax-deductible donation to help John and his wife, Deborah, you are encouraged to visit this website for details.

Don't forget to register your children for Vacation Bible School. We still are in need of a few volunteers to help minister to 300 to 400 children and help them learn about Jesus. More information is available below in Children's Ministry.

I Love Being Your Pastor,
Pastor Joe

Marriage course openings are available. Six weeks remain in the latest marriage course, meeting at 5 p.m. on Saturdays in Room 103 of the Cafe'. These Bible-based classes are appropriate for pre-marital and marital counseling. Contact Pastor Ed for details or to register.

As our children head back to school, most Wednesday activities
that are taking a summer hiatus will return. On Aug. 20, all children's activities and choirs, as well as the main gathering in the Worship Center, swing back into gear. One exception is the elementary WOW choir, which resumes a few weeks earlier — at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 6, in the Point. Wee Choir for preschoolers will start up on Aug. 20 with everything else.

Vacation Bible School is almost here! Volunteers are reminded that a MANDATORY meeting for all VBS Cosmic City volunteers is set for 7 p.m. TONIGHT, Wednesday, July 23, in the Family Life Center. Coffee and dessert will be provided. Please note: This meeting takes the place of the Sunday afternoon meeting held in previous years. Instead of meeting Sunday, all are welcome to decorate Sunday afternoon, July 27.

Middle and high school
update: Awakening midweek and weekend element will not meet this week. While element returns next weekend, Aug. 2-3, Awakening midweek will not return for two additional weeks, returning August 12-13 with “That 70’s Night!” More student ministries news is below.

Get your taste buds ready for Bob Evans night this Saturday, July 26, in the Holy Ground Cafe'. From 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., enjoy a Bob Evans favorite — turkey, mashed potatoes, dressing and salad. Make it a "dinner and a sermon" night by attending the 5 or 6:30 p.m. Saturday service. TCC thanks Bob Evans of Port Orange for donating the meal. All proceeds from food sales go to the Virginia and Wyoming missions.
